From 21/1/12 to 3/2/12 I have mostly…

We had our ecumenical bring and share lunch to start reflecting on our way forward. It was a good session with some hope we can start a new journey.

Looked at the closing verses from Jonah in the morning. Sermon notes here:

Chaplaincy away day at Crich was a very useful time, learning more about each other.

Parent and toddlers at Broadway saw us making Chinese dragons. GB in the evening saw the first use of church’s new Wii!

First time back at the Uni for 2012. We’re looking at ways to revive the book group.

Journeys in the morning looked at marriage. Older GB group at Broadway in the evening where we reflected on the past year and the year to come.

Visited Jenny my NAM mentor in the morning, which is always really good. Out with Lisa to have a very nice lunch at Calke Abbey. Messy Church at Broadway later which had a reasonable turn out and everyone seemed engaged with it. Got back to Repton to see Josh in the second half of his gala.

Day off

Family parade in the morning where I tied in the Chinese New Year. Evening service focused on healing and was a special time.

Computer class in the morning was well attended but we were a helper down so that always makes it difficult. Prepared for this week’s classes later in the day.

During the day I had managed to clear the decks to enable a quiet time, using painting to help me meditate. It is something I will now build in regularly. GB in the evening.

Started a pastoral review of everyone, looking at who I needed to contact. I was at the Uni during the middle part of the day, where good conversations were had with a couple of the students. Continued with pastoral calls in the afternoon along with some painting. Service prep later in the evening.

Jouneys in the morning where we looked at cohabitation. Various preparation, calls and NAM studies in the afternoon. Alpha in the evening where we looked at how we can be sure of our faith.

Various preparation and study. We’re off to Alton Towers to stay later and we’re at home on Sunday!
